Villa wedding in Umbria

Situated right on the borders of Tuscany and Umbria, this lovely old  16th century property was once an ancient monastic hamlet, now splendidly transformed into a romantic venue of quiet undisputed charm.    

It is the ideal location for a very special Italian style wedding, surrounded by an enchanting landscape and close to the beautiful hill town of Cortona , made so famous by the book and film “Under the Tuscan Sun”. 

A marriage in this truly unique setting will be a memorable experience, and one you will carry in your hearts and memories forever.  The beautifully maintained grounds are lush with roses, the guest rooms are elegant, some with immense exposed wooden beams, pavements in stone and terra cotto, ancient wooden doors and romantic canopied beds.   

The property can be available for resident groups on an exclusive basis, or also for smaller groups on a non exclusive basis. Up to 35/40 guests can be accommodated, and there is ample accommodation in the surrounding areas for larger groups.  For exclusive groups a minimum three night stay is required.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available for guests. 

Civil weddings can be held in the nearby lakeside town, while Catholic weddings and blessings are held in the nearby village church.  Protestant weddings, or symbolic celebrations, can be held in the grounds of the property. 

Weddings in Umbria

Right on the borders of Tuscany and Umbria, we can offer this lovely old  family-owned villa which lies just below an enchanting medieval  village.  There are spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.    A fascinating blend of  old fashioned charm, with spectacular fresoced ceilings, the villa retains its original features, creating a unforgettable backdrop for your special day.    The grounds are very attractive and there is a swimming pool.                                                                          

The perfect location for a romantic wedding in Umbria, the villa can host up to 20 people on a bed and breakfast basis.  For larger groups, there is additional accommodation, both in apartments close to the villa, or in the village hotels.    Typical Tuscan meals can be arranged at the villa on request.  Your wedding celebration will be tailor-made to your needs.  This could be a relaxed party with music and dancing, or a more elegant affair with string quartet to entertain your friends and family, the choice is yours, but whatever you choose, it will be a memory to cherish.   

The private chapel can host both Protestant or Symbolic weddings, or a lovely blessing ceremony can be held there, or in the villa grounds.    For catholic weddings you can be married in the Baroque village church, and civil weddings are celebrated in the typical little village town hall.  Winter candlelit weddings can be  celebrated in the splendid vaulted cantinas below the villa. 

The limp waters and shorelines of Lake Trasimeno are a few kilometres away, with ferries to the small enchanting islands in the middle of the lake.  Special  private boat trips and swimming parties with food and entertainment can be arranged on request for you and your guests.  There is good train access from Florence, Pisa and Rome airports, and guests without transport can be picked up from the local train station about 20 minutes away.  Siena, Arezzo, Orvieto and Perugia are all close by.

  

Lake wedding in Umbria

This is another wonderful wedding idea, once again on the border of Tuscany and Umbria , have your unique wedding in tranquil and beautiful surroundings.  Travel by private pontoon boat to a secluded nature reserve island on a lake, for a blessing or wedding in a tiny chapel, situated next to a beautifully restored medieval castle.

For a civil wedding, it has to be held on the mainland, usually in the lovely old town hall in a lakeside village, with its own castle.

After your ceremony, celebrate with champagne and music on the waters of Lake Trasimeno, one of the most beautiful lakes in central Italy .  We can organise a private boat to take you on a trip around the lake, then onto a special celebration outdoor wedding lunch or dinner on a neighbouring island.  Celebrations can also be held in a variety of alternative villa or locations, depending on the number of guests you have.  We have four pontoon boats, therefore a wedding on the lake is suitable for up to 40 guests.

Accommodation for your guests can be in villas with and without private pools, self catering apartments, hotels and bed and breakfasts – all available in the vicinity.  The location is in central Italy , easy access by train and road from Florence , Rome , Pisa and Perugia airports.
