Salò

The small, scenic town of Salò is situated on the West bank of Lake Garda at the foot of Monte San Bartolomeo. Viewing the lake as a clock, Salò would be about 7.00. A charming town, Salò enjoys the longest promenade on the Lake and possibly in the whole of Italy, perfect for romantic evening walks. The historic old town, which dates back to the Middle Ages, is ideal for shopping and meandering. Many of the elegant and chic shops are very tempting!

  

Civil ceremonies in Salò are held in the very elegant 16th Century Palazzo Veneziano. The name of the palace speaks for itself. Decorated in a very romantic and typical Venetian style, the ceremony room is also adorned with stunning Murano glass light fixtures and chandeliers. Ideal for your elegant wedding, the quality and workmanship in the glass fittings, create a magical effect and an effortless sense of grandeur. The palace also enjoys a stunning marble staircase and a beautiful frescoed ceiling.  All in all this is a lovely atmosphere in which to be married.

Salò itself is an enchanting backdrop for your wedding. The views are breathtaking and the elegant walkway along the lakeside enables you to make the most of the scenery - it is also an excellent opportunity for your wedding photographs. On the southern side of the bay, you will find a long, pebbly beach; a well kept secret and a real favourite with Italian families. Salò is also famous for its local cuisine, in particular for its sumptuous fish dishes.

Salò has an interesting history and legend even says that it was the birth place of Gasparo da Salò, the inventor of the violin in 1540. Overall, Salò has a great deal to offer and would make a lovely destination for your wedding. It enjoys a pleasant climate, an elegant town with numerous cafès, shops, restaurants and classy piazzas great for watching the world go by. This is all in addition to breathtaking views and of course the glistening lake dotted with bobbing yachts and motorboats, which add to the colourful atmosphere of the town.

Torri del Benaco

As another spectacular location for your wedding, why not consider the charming town of Torri del Benaco?  Idyllically situated on shimmering Lake Garda with breathtaking views of the Lake and the surrounding mountains, this enchanting Italian town makes the perfect location to marry.

    

The location of the ‘comune’ (or town hall) for civil ceremonies in Torri is the imposing Castello Scaligero.  Within the castle itself you have several options as to where to hold the ceremony.

You can choose from the elegant internal room, the ‘Sala Consiliare’ or if you would like to hold the ceremony outside, then the picturesque ‘Limonara’ or ‘lemon grove’ makes for a beautiful setting. You can even hold the ceremony on the tower of the castle itself.  This way you can enjoy panoramic views of the Lake while you say your vows. The town hall of Torri del Benaco also offers another option. They have a charming room called the ‘Barchessa’, or ‘the boat room’ where weddings can be held. This space is slightly unusual but a very pleasant indoor option.

From Torri, the rest of the towns around the Lake are very accessible, making it a great holiday destination for your guests too! On the other hand, if you would prefer a romantic elopement just the two of you, then you can enjoy the tranquillity and stunning scenery by yourselves.

Weddings in Sirmione

Malcesine Castle Weddings 

Clustered around the foot of the castle and the "Captains' Palace", the old town with its small port, squares and streets filled with shops, bars and picturesque restaurants has a magical charm. Malcesine is one of the most elegant and well-equipped holiday resorts on the lake. The pleasant mild climate all year round permits walks and excursions in the hinterland and on Mount Baldo, which is known as the "Botanical Garden of Europe" due to its huge variety of plant species. A really lovely location for a stylish wedding.

Located on the top of a hill in Malcesine, with a stunning view of the lake, stands this enchanting medieval castle believed to have been built in 568 AD with a lovely Italian Garden. The interior of the marriage hall is simple and in white stone. The ceremony is performed in Italian with translator. Truly beautiful location for wedding pictures! A civil ceremony can take place in the room inside the castle, between 9.30 and 13.30 Monday to Friday (afternoons Tuesdays and Thursdays).

The declaration has to be done the day before your ceremony in government offices.

The other possibility is the Captain’s Palace. The Palace faces the lake on one side and is arrived at by winding cobbled streets in the heart of the small town of Malcesine. The blue waters lapping on the sides of the gardens facing the front of the Palace are delightful, while the views are, to say the least, panoramic! Weddings are celebrated in the upstairs hall; a large frescoed room with windows facing the lake.

The lakeside walk is lovely and represents the real heart of Lake Garda Riviera.

Among the luxuriant vegetation there are villas, grand hotels, parks, gardens and picturesque quarters. Every year the summer season of the open air theatre has an interesting calendar of events.
