On 18 May, my company, The Arrangers, organized a trip for 22 people from the company Remkaflex, to Venice for 3 days. With the help of Venice Events, the trip was a tremendous success. Our clients were very detail oriented and wanted a total program, including all their transportation, meals, guides, tours, and a full schedule. Jayne and her staff worked closely with us in the planning of all of this, and when the group arrived, executed the program to perfection. The clients have assured us that this was a trip they will not soon forget. I want to personally thank Jayne and the staff at Venice Events for all the time and effort they put into this trip. Every year, Bain & Company Belgium organize a 'summer event' for the entire office. In 2007, our destination was Venice, Italy. When we started organising our event, we had something in mind that would make people speechless. After some research, we concluded that Venice Events was probably the best partner to make this happen. And it turned out that we were right: the gala evening that they organised for us, was amazing.
It all started on the Lido, where we were picked up by private water taxis that brought us to the city centre of Venice. Once arrived, Jayne, our Venice Events co-ordinator, guided us to a gondola departure point, where 15 gondoliers were waiting. Before going on board, everybody received a glass of prosecco and a white rose. The gondola trip was magical: imagine a parade of 15 gondolas floating on the water, with the setting sun in the background… But the evening was only about to start. After our gondola trip, we went to the old gambling hall of Venice, where we were welcomed by four actors, dressed in traditional carnival costumes. They accompanied us to the 'Salone Ridotto' where we had drinks and dinner, while two musicians, a violinist and a cellist, created a wonderful atmosphere.
Needless to say that the reactions were overwhelming:

The setting was magnificent, the organisation was flawless. It was what we had dreamed of...

Mask Making Courses in Venice
We can organise two types of courses for groups from two to 30 people seated, or 55 people standing!
 
Course No. 1 – Mask Production
Production of a typical Venetian mask in paper-mache. Time necessary: 2 hours 30 minutes (including theory part). Every participant is given a plaster mould of the ‘Volto’ mask – one of the most typical and significant Venetian masks. Work consists of filling this mould with various strips of a special absorbent paper, which has to be previously wetted and covered with glue.
At the end of the work, the mould is left to dry, therefore the mask cannot be taken straight away but has to be collected a few hours later, (groups who wish to decorate the mask therefore can3not do this on the same day) On the rough product, eyes are cut away and the borders, this is done by the workshop so that the mask is ready to take away without the group having to use cutting materials. Once finished the mask is ready to use, and is given to the participants together with a print showing an image painted by Tiepolo showing the reproduction and a brief description.
Course No. 2 – Decoration
Decoration of a paper-mache mask. Necessary time two hours 30 minutes
Every participation can choose from many types of masks, in white, produced by the workshop.
They are antique masks from Carnival, the daily life in Venice, the theatre (Comedy of Art) or actual, or fantasy. After a theoretical explanation, each person is able to understand the significance of each mask and therefore choose the most gratifying. Each person can choose from 7 different possibilities of practical work: 2 alternative techniques of colouring, either for traditional masks or for someone who wishes to freely show their creativity, fantasy decoration with 5 different techniques.
At the end of the work each person can take home their own mask, unique, different to all the others and finished in a professional way.
Enjoy a day in the Venetian lagoon, discovering islands and wildlife and spending a day on board a traditional boat from Chioggia - a 'Bragozzo' - we can provide one of the few remaining boats of this type, that were typically used in the Venetian lagoon, a type of low bottomed sailing boat, used mainly for fishing since the days of the Serenissima Republic. Relive the same pleasures when the Venetian nobility used to sail from one home to another and discover the lesser known islands of the lagoon, convents, forts and secular communities such as the island of San Lazzaro, the Armenian community. This full day can include gastronomic delights served on board the boat, including of course fish specialities.
Why not organise your annual awards in a completely different location ? A 17th century Palace in Venice, and depending on numbers we can hire the palace actually situated on the Grand Canal itself. We are totally flexible and can organise your event, according to your requirements, interests, themes.
